Northwest School of Medicine (NWSM) is an esteemed medical college that we long dreamt of the dream finally came true in 2016. The birth of this state of the art medical institution is indeed a good luck for the people of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa in particular and of Pakistan in general.

It is a matter of great honour and pride for me to be the principal of NWSM. It enables me to contribute my energies and ideas for nurturing this institution. I also take pride in being part of a faculty that is best equipped to impart the highest standards of quality medical education and training to the medical students, the future healthcare professionals. All our teachers, both in basic and clinical sciences, have the strongest academic background and have vast teaching experience in their respective subjects.

We have adopted an integrated modular system of teaching in which much emphasis is placed on active participation of students in small group discussions (SGDs), self-directed learning (SDL) and problem-based learning (PBL). One essential element of our teaching methodology is exposure of our students to the clinical cases right from the day one. Our teaching strategies are in conformity with the guidelines provided by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) and Khyber Medical University (KMU).

We have the best infrastructure and most modern medical equipments and teaching tools to facilitate attainment of highest levels of knowledge and skills by our students. We have a fully equipped clinical skill lab. Our library is open for students till late in the night, with a secure learning-friendly environment. We extend good hostel facilities for both male and female students. In addition, as part of co-curricular activities, we have a sports society, a literary society and a social welfare society. Our yearly college magazine is in the making and our journal (NWJMS) is published every three months.

In nutshell we at the NWSM are committed to make it an institution par excellence. May Allah help us all in this endeavor (Ameen).
