Research is one of the most important part of medical studies. Students of NWSM are taught how to conduct researches as it is compulsory for every student.
A research group conducted a cross sectional study on ‘Awareness and Practice of informed consent among surgical residents.’ Under the supervision of Dr. Waqar Ali (HoD, Community Medicine). Ms. Shamal (final year MBBS student, NWSM) presented the research at the 14th Khyber Eyecon 2022, 43rd Annual Congress& 5th PACRS Symposium on 26th February which was held at Pearl Continental Hotel, Peshawar. Many ophthalmologists including consultants, trainees, house officers and medical students attended this conference. She was awarded a shield and certificate after presenting the group`s work. NWSM is proud to have students taking part in events like these which have a great impact on their confidence and have more motivation for research studies in the future.
